Irene Flannery

Nutritional Therapist, Medicinal Chef, Food Educator & Writer

Helping you reconnect with food, your health and the rhythms of the seasons โ€” through simple cooking, real ingredients and a life lived a little closer to the kitchen.

What I Do

Iโ€™m Irene โ€” a nutritional therapist, cook, and lifelong gatherer of good food and good ideas. My work has always started in the kitchen, but over the years it has grown into something more โ€” conversations, classes, shared tables and those small moments where something just clicks.

These days, youโ€™ll find me teaching, writing, and speaking โ€” helping people make sense of food without the noise, the rules, or the overwhelm.

Because itโ€™s not about perfection.

Itโ€™s about knowing what to do, having a few good ingredients to handโ€ฆand trusting yourself to make something nourishing from it.

Letโ€™s explore how food can be your greatest ally in health.

My work is practical, grounded and rooted in real life โ€” informed by nutritional science, shaped by experience and guided by a deep respect for traditional food wisdom. Whether through personalized nutrition, a talk, a class, or time spent together in the kitchen, the focus is always the same: helping you make sense of food in a way that feels manageable, sustainable and genuinely supportive of your health.

Here are a few ways you can work with me:

Your Nutrition, Your Way

Gentle, practical nutrition support through wholefoods, culinary medicine and realistic everyday changes. If youโ€™d like to explore working together on your personalized nutrition, the first step is a friendly discovery call.

Workshops & Courses

Hands-on, seasonal, and rooted in real life โ€” my classes are about building confidence in the kitchen, learning by doing, and enjoying the process along the way.

Whether part of a structured course or a one-off workshop, the focus is always on simple, nourishing food that fits into everyday life.

Writing & Notes from My Kitchen

Writing is a big part of my work โ€” a way of sharing ideas, recipes and reflections that donโ€™t always fit into a class or a talk.

Each week, I send Notes from My Kitchen โ€” a gentle email with seasonal recipes, simple ideas, and a few thoughts from my own kitchen.

Private Cooking Sessions

One-to-one or small group sessions in your own kitchen, mine or online โ€” practical, relaxed, and tailored to you, your tastes, goals and your everyday life.

This is where culinary medicine comes to life in a very real way โ€” turning what you know you should be doing into something you can actually cook, enjoy, and come back to again and again.
